I haven't read extensively into it, but what I read through the speculation thread on QJ was very vague.

Form what i know Utopia is a custom kernel (open source) that will use less space in all the future homebrews like

It's a completely different OS instead of the PSP's firmware. It will be completely open-source, built from scratch, probably with no copyrighted code from the official firmware, unlike the custom firmwares we have today (which is mostly just official firmware + patches)...

Actually it is only the kernel, there is no specific vsh replacement planned for utopia. If someone wants to code one that runs on it he will be more than welcome to.
Utopia shall be public shortly, I have to ask Silverspring about it first though and I have to setup the svn for it and add the apropriate forum sections. |
