Editing 5.03 EBOOT to think its 6.20

Hello I've just started working on trying to edit a 5.03 EBoot to trick it into thinking it's 6.20 for ppl who have 6.10. I've gotten it to boot but the screen just goes black and shuts off, i know theres more to do then just editing the hex 5.03 to 6.20, but im new to code and everything so any help would be great. Am i getting anywhere or should i keep pluging away at it? I'm just a stay at home dad with alot of time on my hands and I want to help the community. I see alot of exploit work with save games and I am wondering why not compare update codes and seperate whats diffrent between them to maybe come up with a update to downgrade. is it even possable?

You cannot modify an eboot to think it's anything other than it already is, if you change the eboot in any way you invalidate the encryption and signing.
