The people know is easy made PS3 Backups from Their own originals, but not are possible test if the backup are ok, not exist the loader  we can't test.

For that i investigate if i can dump my original PS2 games and run in my PS2 in one PS3, i test with Jack&Daxter platinium version.

In Linux PS3

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/tmp/jakps3.img

2852160+0 records in
2852160+0 records out
1460305920 bytes (1,5 GB) copied, 253,673 seconds, 5,8 MB/s

In Linux in VAIO PC

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/tmp/jakpc.img

2852160+0 records in
2852160+0 records out
1460305920 bytes (1,5 GB) copied, 245,538 seconds, 5,9 MB/s

And using DVD Decrypter in Windows XP

The Final Result:

ps3 md5 :
aa080bbacde5cb200d43145b58d9c36f

pc linux md5
aa080bbacde5cb200d43145b58d9c36f

pc windows md5
aa080bbacde5cb200d43145b58d9c36f

seems the PS2 backups maded by PS3 are ok, i dunno if PS3 dumps can be same, or hypervisor hide some data or change random data in these dumps.

That's All. :p

well if the md5 are correct the file should work, because if the file is 1 byte bigger you will get an other md5 string

um not necessarily true, it might be the same in md5 structure but i have seen rare instances where the md5 checksum would note an exact same string (i have seen this twice on a DATA.DAXR file on the PSP) so i can't rely completely on the md5 you'd need to test it to really find out if it's 1:1 or skewed.
